He retraces his journey from AIDS victim to superb health…only through changing to what he believes is the best diet in the world, described in his book, “Immune: How I Beat AIDS in My Kitchen”. With Celia Farber and David Crowe Paul describes just how deathly ill he was soon after his positive HIV test in 2004, and how things changed rapidly and dramatically after he saw the light about diet and toxins. By removing drugs, including alcohol, and initiating an ancient diet, inspired by the Weston Price foundation, he returned to superb mental and physical health.

Celia’s audio quality is not as high as it should be in this episode as her recording equipment was packed in a box in the process of moving.

Christine Maggiore really wanted to help Edmond McNack get his story out. But, after taping an introduction, technical problems prevented taping on December 10th, 2008. And by December 27th she was gone. This podcast includes her original introduction and an interview conducted later by David Crowe and Celia Farber.

Edmond’s life was turned upside down when, doing his duty as a sheriff’s deputy, he was bitten by a prisoner. Even though HIV tests on him and the prisoner came back negative within 24 hours he was encouraged to continue AIDS drugs for 12 weeks (he managed 10 despite excruciating side effects). This caused a condition called Sarcoidosis, non-cancerous tumors throughout the body. The solution was high dose prednisone which caused such severe bone loss that Edmond needed both hips replaced. Compounding the tragedy, at every turn he was denied compensation. Although sarcoidosis after AIDS drugs is well known, it has never been reported before in HIV-negative people (well, duh! HIV-negative people hardly ever taken AIDS drugs!). Therefore, the experts said, there was no proof the drugs caused sarcoidosis in Edmond. Edmond has exhausted all avenues of appeal and now just wants to get his story out to help others.

Some photographs of Edmond help illustrate the story.

In Terry Michael’s first podcast as an official co-host he discusses the ”Test and Treat” concept – a massive experiment with toxic drugs on blacks and gay men in Washington DC and elsewhere.

The idea is that everyone in defined risk groups should be tested for HIV. In Washington DC this means all black people as well as gay men. In San Francisco mainly gay men. In Vancouver, Canada, mainly IV drug users. Once the target is identified all who test positive will be given AIDS drugs right away – not to try to prevent disease, but to prevent transmission.

If there was scientific evidence that this would reduce the long-term risk of AIDS the morality of treating people with drugs with well-documented fatal side effects could be debated. But there is no scientific evidence for this concept. Could it be that it is a desperate “Hail Mary” pass to try to increase the number of people consuming drugs?

For more information also read Terry Michael’s article and watch the New York Magazine video, Another Kind of AIDS Crisis that notes that, ”A striking number of HIV patients are experiencing symptoms usually identified with the elderly” (now what might be causing that?)

In this episode of How Positive Are You, the name of the podcast is given new meaning. Host Celia Farber has a paradigm shifting conversation with Freddie Buckley, a UK citizen living in Madrid, who has been HIV positive and healthy since 1997, never having taken ARV medications.

Freddie, who met Farber at the Oakland Rethinking AIDS conference in 2009 (http://ra2009.org), is not a “survivor,” but rather, he has fully transcended the HIV meme, and all of its expected burdens. Not only is he healthy, he has not permitted the anti-body test to diminish his spirit, plans, or lust for life at any level. “I was moved and changed after this interview,” says Farber. “I have been waiting for Freddie Buckley for a very long time. What we have needed, but not realized we needed, was to ascend not in our scientific understanding, but in our spiritual willpower. Do we want to be free, or do we want to stay inside the meme and suffer? Who creates our suffering? Where does the command come from, to live at a lower frequency, under the HIV atomic cloud? Is it possible we could be free right now, this instant? Freddie made me realize that the answer is yes, we could be. Some might say he can afford to think like this because he has never been sick. I submit that it’s the other way around: That getting a handle on the meme right from the outset is the greatest predictor for health. Freddie is one of the first people I have ever spoken to who cast off the meme in its entirety.”

“I woke up one day,” he says in the interview, “and I realized there was nothing wrong with me.”

“This statement, when he said it, made us both laugh,” says Farber. “Even among dissidents, it amounts to a kind of faint heresy. You’re supposed to remain in a kind of… negotiating relationship with your antibodies. Freddie shows us all a third way, a new exit, back to what we might call fully normal life. I think Freddie and his message are a sign of the times.”
